About Us

A Mission of Movement

We are committed to helping dancers improve their strength and skill sets to give them longevity! Focusing on various cross training techniques including Pilates, injury prevention, and more, we can help build awareness and create a foundation of core strength! Prehab is key and knowledge is power! So let us help you with strength, alignment, stability, control, execution, and consistency to help you succeed!


Our programs include a well rounded curriculum that will not only have you moving, but also help you understand how the body works. Dance is demanding on the body, and we want to provide as many training and recovery tools possible!

Training Programs

Courses vary, and are set up for students to have continued growth. We provided workshops, intensives, master classes, private and semi private training, plus customized special events are available. To maintain your training  year round we have an annual membership program launching in 2019, making it possible for you to work with us in your own home or studio. We want dancers of a wide range of ages and levels, including professionals, and teachers/coaches to excel with Core Training Techniques! We have had great success with students and professionals training and working around the world in elite programs and iconic jobs!

Teachers with Experience

We take pride in being knowledgable, versatile teachers. Emily Zachary-Smith and Josh Smith are a husband and wife team that have been working professionally in the dance industry since 1998. In 2003 they ventured in to Pilates, which led them to other cross training techniques, promoting health and fitness to dancers and clients of all ages, and levels. Dance and Pilates were a natural fit, working seamlessly together. The fact that we could help provide strength and build strong foundations for ourselves and other dancers was a blessing. Every artist and athlete strive for successful careers with longevity!.


As Master Trainers they continued on their Pilates journey following Josh's dream with their own studio, Hardcore Pilates LA, Inc in 2015. This studio has been a great space for clients of all ages to have growth and accomplish goals; from rehab, to hobbies, to careers. For their two career paths to merge, working with dancers of all ages, pre-professional through professional, is near and dear to their hearts! 


In 2015 they began working with Kym Dameworth PhD, DPT, in professional settings, and personally, with her as their trainer/physical therapist. Kym has a gift and a grasp of how the body works like no other! With her athletic history, elite training, and expertise her knowledge has helped many!. Combining her numerous therapy skills and versatile training techniques she is the best of the best, a true a biomechanics expert! Kym's teaching and rehab methods are one of a kind, and she is always willing to think outside of the box customizing every session! We are thankful to work with her, and have her as our resident expert consult, physical therapist, and biomechanics extraordinaire!
